The group operates properties across the country, several with large event and conference space. Two risks drove the project: housekeepers and night staff working alone in guest floors and back-of-house areas where help can be far away, and the duty, sharpened by Martyn's Law for its larger venues, to move people to safety and account for staff quickly. Radio round-robins and a walk of the floors were the only ways duty managers had to confirm their own people were clear.

The rollout was designed to be repeatable across the estate. Each property was surveyed for staff routes, floors and exits; Safety Detection Points were installed at those points; and housekeepers, night staff and other lone workers were issued safety tags that double as a discreet, located duress alert. A standard configuration meant later properties came online faster than the first.

Now, the moment an alarm sounds, the duty manager sees a live count of which staff are clear rather than trying to raise each person by radio, and a lone worker facing a threat can summon help with an exact location at the press of a button. Every drill and real activation is logged automatically.

For the group's standard and enhanced-tier premises under Martyn's Law, and for its insurers, that automatic record turns evacuation and lone-worker readiness into something demonstrable rather than asserted.
